What to do? First of all, no panic!
Why not expand your horizon? Imagine you start working with Adobe PDF viewer on your Mac, and you need to edit the info in your tax return. Basically, you get a viewer for free, and then your credit card is billed for the more useful functions. When you get the app, you receive the whole meal deal right out of the box from viewing and editing PDFs to redacting , printing , adding and many more extras.
There are couple steps to take. Sometimes, your PDF file has attachments.
It might be a project paper with audio files in it or a simple portfolio. Using PDF Expert you will always find them on the side bar. What if you have to work with two documents simultaneously? Your PDF gets a proper title — the title of the original webpage — and is split into pages, like a book.
The PDF also has some other extras: In the bottom left corner of each page is the url if the original page. In the bottom right corner of every page is the date and time the snapshot was taken, along with a Page x of y legend. But right now, in the iOS 12 beta at least, Books lacks a few essentials. One is that you can add proper highlights to a PDF.
PDF highlights are kept with the document as actual snippets, so in supporting apps you can view all your highlights in one place. Books only lets you use a colored marker to draw on the page. That will almost certainly change, though.
None of the three methods above is perfect.

Sometimes you only want to save a snippet of text from an article, such as a quote. Select the text you want to save and hit Copy.
You know the rest. Otherwise, you can click-drag the selected text to your Desktop to save it as a clipping file. The idea here is the same as for text. Some sites such as flckr. Otherwise, Control-click the item or its link. When do it. I already mentioned using the Print command to save a file as a PDF. Of course, you can also use Print to actually print the page to paper. From the sheet that drops down, select Print again.
