The day after Grisham completed A Time to Kill, he began work on another novel, the story of a hotshot young attorney lured to an apparently perfect law firm that was not what it appeared. The successes of The Pelican Brief, which hit number one on the New York Times bestseller list, and The Client, which debuted at number one, confirmed Grisham's reputation as the master of the legal thriller. The Innocent Man October marks his first foray into non-fiction. An interesting read, although I found it to be quite long with many characters and not much character development. The plot, although far fetched it is fiction after all was enticing and motivated me to continue reading - mainly to see what the final verdict would be.

I did like the book overall and the calculated risks, plans and set ups that came with creating a Runaway Jury. You will enjoy how Grisham takes you step by step through jury selection — and manipulation.

I wanted to run away too! This was my first John Grisham novel, so i wasn't sure what to expect and so i kept an open mind. However, i soon found out that this book was boring.

The characters weren't developed, there was too many courtroom details, and some of the plot was just a bit unbelievable. The only thing that kept me going until the end was to see Fitch's reacation to the verdict.
